KHS track and field athletes who qualified for the UIL Class 3A Region II Track & Field Championships will compete this Friday and Saturday, April 26 & 27 in Commerce.
Coach Lane's boys, Chris Beaty will run in both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles.  Kilgore's 800 meter relay team of Aaron Foy, Austin Jordan, Jordan Thompson and Angel Martinez will compete, as will the mile relay team of Thompson, Martinez, Kevrin Justice and Jeffery Sanders.  The 400 meter relay team of Foy, Jordan, Justice and Thompson head to regionals, as does Martinez in the 800 meter run, Lino Huerta in the 3200 meter run, both Justice and Foy in the triple jump, and both Ladarrin Anthony and DaQuellan Scott in the shot put.
Coach Dehdaris girls, Tony Burks will compete in regionals in the long jump, the triple jump, the 400 meter dash, and the 800 meter relay long with Sinclair Mauldin, Daria Rossum and Ashley Clinton.   Mauldin, Rossum, Destiny Washington and Cailon Palmer will represent KHS in the 400 meter relay.  Karsen Davis will run in the 1600 meter run, and Adreyanna Barnes will throw in regionals in the discus.
The athletes must finish in the top two at regionals to qualify for the state track meet, to be contested on Friday, May 10 & 11 at
Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
