KHS Student Honored at Harvest Festival

KHS Senior, Trevor O'Quinn was presented the Albert Horaney Scholarship on Saturday night in the presence of 2000+ attendees of the annual Harvest Festival & Livestock Show Crayfish Boil held in the Maude Cobb complex in Longview, Texas.  Trevor was selected from 19 applicants covering a 5 county region to receive this award which is the Harvest Festival's most  prestigious scholarship ($8,000).  Trevor has been an active Kilgore FFA member since his freshman year serving as the 2011-12 Kilgore FFA Chapter President and currently serving as Texas FFA Area VI 1st Vice President.  Trevor's other accomplishments include public speaking contests sponsored by the State Fair of Texas and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo as well as competing with livestock and poultry projects on the local, area and state level. Trevor plans to continue his education next fall at Texas A&M University. 

Trevor was presented the scholarship by Betty Horaney, owner of Horaney's Inc. of Longview.  Betty is the wife of the late Albert Horaney.
