Safety and Security

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As students, teachers and parents across Kilgore ISD are counting down the final weeks and days of summer, it is worth our time to focus on the safety and well-being of our students.  Teachers, principals and staff take this charge very seriously and as a parent, we know that you would not have it any other way.

Please take a few moments to read through the enclosed materials that relate to your child’s campus.  We’ve tried to detail common items like pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as procedures to visit your child’s campus.  There are many other details that may not be noticed, but we hope you gain a sense of comfort that your children are in good hands.

We admit that some of these procedures may pose a slight inconvenience for some.  We truly regret that, but we hope that you and your child will appreciate a level of safety and security that will allow learning to blossom.  Your children deserve our very best.

Of course, safety is something that requires our constant attention.  We pledge to do our best, but we ask for your help as well.  Please pay special attention as you visit our campuses.  Help us to identify ways to improve the safety and security for all.  You may ask questions or share comments with your child’s principal or any faculty member.

As we finalize preparations for the school year, we hope that the care-free days of summer blend into an exciting, productive and safe school year.  Thank you for the privilege of working with your children.

Sincerely,

Cara Cooke,

Superintendent
